Bodegas Bohedal is a small family run winery which started up thanks to its long love story with viticulture. Their artisanal wine making has been passed down generation to generation over the last 100 years.
Bodegas Bohedal´s wines are made with grapes from their own vineyard which are located in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa on the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria mountains. All their efforts are put in to getting the best quality grapes.
The majority of the vines they have planted are Tempranillo and the average age of the vineyards are between 40 and 80 years old. They also have Viura and Graciano vines. The vines are looked after impeccably to ensure the maximum quality of grapes.
The winery is family run and is located in the village of Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, in Rioja Alta.
Bodegas Bohedal works with an innovative vocation which is true to its youthfulness and respect for the traditional characteristics of Rioja wine.
Bodegas Bohedal is divided into 4 separate buildings:
The first building houses the vats where the fermentation of the joven (young) wines and wines which have been selected for ageing takes place.
Secondly there is an oak barrel cellar where selected wines are aged in a natural environment.
Thirdly there is the bottling plant and warehouse where the bottles are labelled and prepared ready to be released into the market.
Lastly there is a tasting room and a dining room which is the perfect space where visitors can enjoy and taste the winery´s wines.
