Bodegas Amaren

Bodegas Amaren, which means "of the mother" in Basque, was born with the 1995 vintage as a tribute to Ángeles, mother of the winemaker Juan Luis Cañas. In 2009 Juan Luis Cañas sees his dream come true, dedicating a winery and a whole range of wines to his mother.

Bodegas Amaren makes its Rioja wines from grapes from 22 hectares of low production vineyards over 60 years old and 30 hectares between 30 and 60 years old with some vineyards over 100 years old.

The wines of Bodegas Amaren go through a process of manual selection of bunches and later grain by grain. The best quality French oak barrels and vats are used. For the most expressive wines, grapes from centuries-old vineyards with low productivity and careful production are used.
